When making our first-ever endorsements, we wanted to support candidates who are 1) rooted in their communities, 2) committed to our core campaigns, and 3) dedicated to co-governance. Angela is all of these things and more!

A fourth-generation Uptown resident, Angela grew up in affordable housing in the ward and began organizing as a student at Uplift Community High School. She has a long track record of advocating for affordable housing and public education and was the youngest-ever president of Voice of the People Uptown, a 51-year-old housing nonprofit.
Angela is a proud supporter of the campaigns at the center of our work. She champions both Bring Chicago Home and Treatment Not Trauma and focuses her platform on affordable housing, economic justice, and police accountability.

Angela has united the progressive movement behind her campaign and is dedicated to co-governance. JCUA Votes is proud to be working to elect Angela alongside Asian American Midwest Progressives, Grassroots Illinois Action, ONE People’s Campaign, Sunrise Movement Chicago, and many others! Just this week, we had a powerful joint phone-banking shift with our partners.
